Top Gun Maverick 很好看。戲裏的湯告魯斯說過，空戰的關鍵不在於戰機，而是機師。優秀的機師駕駛殘舊的戰機是可以打敗駕駛一流戰機的普通機師。

做培訓也是一樣。LEGO SERIOUS PLAY 作為培訓工具，往往成為了焦點，大家爭相砌積木，令「戰機」成為了主角。回歸基本步，好的課程的基礎，是合理的課堂設計，扎實的引導技巧。疫情下的Hybrid模式，更要求技術方面有充足的準備。

上周為香港的一間中學全校教職員做了一場專業發展工作坊，題目為「Growth Mindset」。如何在短短二個半小時內，令接近80人：

明白什麼是Growth Mindset，

知道自己的Mindset如何，

學到建立Growth Mindset的方法，

增進同事間的了解，

砌得開心，玩得開心。

要達到以上期望，並不是只依靠一套工具便能輕易達成。再說一次，是機師，不是戰機。值錢的不是課程中使用LSP，而是精心的設計和引導。

當然，好的機師能因時制宜，在不同的情況下使用不同工具。客戶要求的是效果，不是工具。

Top Gun Maverick is a great movie! In the movie Tom Cruise said, aerial battle is not about the fighter jet, it’s about the “man in the box” (pilot).

Same goes with training delivery. The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method has always gotten the spotlight in the training room – people are excited about the variety and playfulness of the bricks. The bricks are now the fighter jet. However, as Tom Cruise said, success is never about the tool (fighter jet) but the trainer (pilot). Back to the basic – carefully designed rundown and seasoned facilitation skills are the basic and essential building blocks of a successful training delivery. If you are running the program in online or hybrid format, technical expertise is another must-have skill.

I had the privilege to run a staff development program for all the staffs (80 people) in a high school in Hong Kong last week. The topic was “Growth Mindset”. In 2.5 hours, I need to make the participants:

-Understand what is Growth Mindset

-Know their own mindsets

-Learn how to develop Growth Mindset

-Enhance mutual understanding with colleagues

-Have fun with the bricks

Achieving these objectives will take much more than one amazing tool in my disposal. It’s about the pilot, not the fighter jet. The value of the program is not about the LSP method, but the careful design and solid facilitation skill. The best trainer can deploy different tools in different situations to meet different objectives. Clients want result, not a particular tool.
